Book Description:
This work is a tentative to propose a general theory of social evolution, which would do for human societies what its biological counterpart did for all living forms on earth, i.e. provide a new paradigm capable of liberating new energies, hitherto locked in sterile conceptual structures which were inherited, for the most progressive, from the nineteenth century. Such a heuristic proposition, considered a necessary and logical condition of human intellectual progress in Darwin's time, has encountered the fiercest resistance for virtually all of the last century from those who would seemingly be most interested in such a project, the sociologists and the historians. It has as its central hypothesis that the evolution of human societies is dependant upon the development of human sexuality and that the subsequent evolution of these societies is principally determined by the structural functions of violence.
