Book Title: An Auto Maintenance Diary
Record Number: 1573
Author: M J Krisman
Author Bio: Michael J. Krisman, Jr. A Kansas City, Kansas kid, mid W.W.II vintage. From the Missouri River bottoms, stockyards workers to up-town Croatian crowd. Older brother to seven. First born to hard working, depression marked parents. Rural upbringing. Grocery boy at 16, 3 summer jobs. Joined the USN in '64 and served on an old famous WWII Tin Can (destroyer), the U.S.S. Nicholas DD-449 (31 battle stars). Read her logs on www.ussnicholas.org. As a swabby, I worked on aviation and shipboard equipment; and developed my maintenance diciplines. I gave up at-sea living, half-submerged, on little boats on rough seas, after the four-year standard fare. Settled in California three different times between four newborns. I worked in the nuclear industry, building and starting up power plants. This further developed my operations and maintenance techniques, as did doing all of my own motor vehicle maintenance. Maintenance schedules and logs were always needing to be made up to keep track of my own vehicles maintenance history. So, I put all of my career experiences together to author this Auto Maintenance System and its check-lists. It's cover and objectives tell the story.

Book Description:   The Auto Maintenance Diary is a check-listed maintenance discipline that is concerned with a vehicles normal upkeep, including the replacement of consumable items, such as fluids and filters. It presents the 40 Preventative Maintenance Tasks, and the steps to do each task, and it gives any vehicle owner the Knowledge and Abilities to do, or to have these tasks performed. Each task is tracked on a checklist to show when it needs to be performed and signed off. The objectives for this maintenance discipline include increased vehicle operations reliability and your peace of mind, increased vehicle performance, and cost savings for not-needed costly maintenance, which may not need to be performed. Most vehicles' owners manuals do not give a tracking and signoff system, so that many maintenance items get forgotten, and later, cause Symptoms to Situations Events. Using this scheduled checklist, you or your entrusted vehicle user, with this system in their car's glove box as a reminder, need not have such events. And, included is a list of a number of safety items, for which your vehicle holds the vehicle's owner/operator accountable, for being prepared for emergencies. And are you ready to respond to 59 road side emergency events, pertaining to you or your vehicle? These are listed as part of an enclosed QUALIFICATIONS CARD, which prepares you for over and above just passing a drivers test. If you are properly checked-out, you will be more thought out for these types of emergencies. The goal: NO BREAKDOWNS AND NO 'YOU PAY ME LATERS!'
