Book Description:   On October 7, 1780, at King's Mountain, South Carolina, the Overmountain Men, consisting of several Colonial militia regiments, soundly and utterly defeated the renowned British Veteran, Colonel Patrick Ferguson and his army of Tory militia. None other than General George Washington described this victory as the pivotal battle, in the south, of the American Revolution. In that battle, one Colonial militia regiment suffered more than any other; The Washington County, Virginia Rangers lost 13 officers and one private. One family sacrificed more than any other; the Edmiston Family. In that extended family, out of the eight who fought, three officers were killed; and, all of the other five were wounded.
