Darrell Jordan (Lee Gar Lin) has been studying and practicing Martial Arts since 1967 starting with boxing, moving on to Shoto-kan Kara-te in 1968 while growing up in NYC. He achieved his Brown belt after 4 years of study and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1972 (mortars) and 1985 (Scout/Sniper). He was subsequently shipped over seas to various countries in South East Asia as an Infantryman. One of those countries was Okinawa, the birthplace of Kara-te. He immediately went out to locate a Kara-te school in which he found a local Dojo where Isshin-Ryu was taught. He joined right away, and continued in that school until he was shipped out to Japan, and again, locating a local kara-te school in which to participate. After a short stint in Japan, he was shipped to the Philippines where he found to his surprise a Shorin Ryu school and he continued his study of Kara-te. In 1975 Darrell moved back to NYC, and having located the LEE MOY SHAN Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) Kung Fu school, he joined that night when he went to visit. Darrell recalls
